Third
year forward Chad Warren hit a 3 with 21 seconds to go to give the
X-Men a 77-75 victory over a much improved UNB squad. The X-Men,
without the services of Charlie Spurr and Will Silver, were in a battle
from the first whistle. The game was characterized by numerous
lead chages, and neither team was able to get any separation. UNB
led at the half 39-38. UNB held a slim lead coming down the
stretch until Warren's dramatic 3.
Christian Upshaw led the way
for X with 27 points and 6 rebounds. A very bright spot for the
blue anf white was the play of freshman Jordan Clark. In his
second CIS game, Clark contributed 14 points and 3 rebounds in 30
minutes of play. Jeremy Dunn posted a 13 point, 11 rebound double
double. Alberto Rodriguez chipped in 11 points and 6 boards.
The X-Men play UQUAM tomorrow at 11 AM. A victory will give them the Garland Title.
