X dominates Dal

In what can only be characterized as a dominating performance, the X-Men defeated the Dalhousie Tigers by a score of 103-65 in front of a large crowd at the Oland Centre.  The X-Men were looking for a solid performance after a disappointing loss at Cape Breton last weekend.  They certainly achieved this goal.  The X-Men dominated the overmatched Tigers in all aspects of the game.  The X-Men built a 15 point lead half way through the first half, and cruised to a 20 point half time lead.  X stretched this lead to 30 points early in the second, and coach Konchalski called on his bench to finish out the game. 

X was led by Neil MacDonald who bounced back strongly from a sub-par performance at CBU.  MacDonald had 22 points and 8 boards and was unstoppable when he got the ball in the post.  Garry Gallimore brought his trademark intensity and scored 19, mainly on strong drives to the hoop and chipped in 4 assists.  Former St Pat's teammates Christian Upshaw and Tyler Richards added 13 apiece.  Upshaw also led the team with 6 assists.  This contest allowed coach Konchalski to give his bench significant minutes and a number of first and second year players had a chance to shine.  Terrance Taylor had another strong outing with 9 points.  Rookie Will Silver was impressive running the offence.  Silver displayed poise and confidence and contributed 7 points and 5 boards.   Second year guard Dave Joyce demonstrated that he's upgraded his game since last year and contributed 6 points.   Andrew Sullivan and Drew Stratten led Dal with 14 and 13 points respectively.

For the game, X shot almost 60% (and 62.5% from three point range) and held Dal to 38%.  X had a whopping 34-19 edge in the rebounding department.
