After an emotionally draining win over the Capers last night, the X-Men had just enough to get past the scrappy UNB Varsity Reds, 79-75. The game was played in a howling blizzard in Antigonish keeping many die hard fans from attending. UNB started strong and jumped out to a quick 10-2 lead. X quickly got back into the game and built a 9 point lead at the half. The second half saw the X-Men maintain their 9 point edge until very late in the contest when the VReds hit a couple of threes to make the game closer. Key contributors to the X victory were Neil MacDonald with 18 points, 6 boards 4 blocks and 2 steals, Zach Russell with 15 points and 7 assists and Gary Gallimore with 12 points and 6 boards.
