X-Men tough out win over Axemen

The X-Men came out on the winning side of a 62-53 score in a hard-fought contest over the Acadia Axemen Wednesday night in Wolfville.  This game had been originally scheduled for November, but was snowed out.  X led most of the way, but was not able to pull away from a determined Axemen team until foul shots iced the game in the final minute.

Mike Baxter has a terrific game off the bench with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Neil MacDonald had a strong game for the X-Men, scoring 13 points and collecting a season high 12 rebounds.  MacDonald and Baxter are currently 1 - 2 in the AUS in field goal percentage (66.2% and 65.2% respectively).  Acadia was led by Wayne Duncan with 14 points on a miserable 6-20 shooting.  X did a great job on the boards out-rebounding Acadia 42-31.

 X has a busy weekend coming up, hosting UCCB on Saturday at 8PM and UNB on Sunday.at 3PM.
